Questions about water wells and pumps?

Well Drilling Boise

Well construction involves drilling or digging to access groundwater. A borehole is drilled, and a well casing is installed to prevent collapse and contamination. The well is sealed at the surface, and a pump system is added to extract water, ensuring a reliable and clean supply. Whether you’re a farmer, rural homeowner, oe business requiring large quantities of water, consider well construction to secure a consistent water supply.

Pump Service, Repair and Replacement
Boise

Inspecting, maintaining, and repairing the pump system to ensure efficient water flow. We can check for issues like pressure problems, cleaning or replacing filters, inspecting electrical connections, and testing the pump’s performance. Regular servicing helps prevent breakdowns, extend the pump’s lifespan, and maintain water quality.

Well Water Testing
Boise

Well water testing involves analyzing the water for contaminants and pollutants to ensure it is safe for use. Tests typically check for bacteria, nitrates, pH levels, heavy metals, and chemicals like pesticides. Regular testing is essential to identify potential health risks and maintain water quality, especially in private wells that are not regulated by public systems.

Well Servicing
Boise

Servicing a well involves inspecting, maintaining, and repairing various components to ensure the system operates efficiently. This includes checking the well pump, inspecting the well casing and seals, cleaning or replacing well filters, testing water quality, and ensuring proper pump pressure and flow. Regular servicing helps prevent issues like water contamination, equipment failure, or reduced water flow, extending the well’s lifespan.

Well Drilling

Using state-of-the-art equipment, we drill a borehole to access underground water sources.

Install Casing and Screen

After drilling, the borehole is lined with a well casing to prevent collapse and contamination, allowing clean water to be pumped to the surface.

Install Artificial Filter Pack (if applicable)

An artificial filter pack helps filter out fine particles like sand, silt, and clay before water enters the well.

Grout the Well

Sealing the space between the well casing and the surrounding borehole walls with a material like cement, bentonite clay, or a grout mixture.

Install Pump (if necessary)

When constructing a new well, installing a pump may be necessary. This refers to placing and setting up a pump system that will draw water from the well to the surface for use.

Well Installation FAQ’s

Q: How do I know if I need a new well?

A: A new well may be needed if you’re building on undeveloped land, experiencing low water supply, or seeking a more reliable and independent water source.

Q: How deep does my well need to be?

A: The depth depends on local geology, water table levels, and intended water use. A site inspection and survey will determine the ideal depth.

Q: How long does it take to drill a well?

A: Typically, well drilling takes 1 to 3 days, but the time can vary depending on factors like depth, soil conditions, and weather.

Q: What is a well casing, and why is it important?

A: A well casing is a protective pipe that lines the borehole to prevent contamination and collapse. It ensures safe, clean water.

Q: How often should my well be serviced?

A: It’s recommended to service a well annually to check the pump, water quality, and overall system functionality.

Q: How do I test my well water?

A: Water testing involves collecting a sample and sending it to a certified lab for analysis. It’s crucial to test for bacteria, nitrates, and other contaminants annually.

Q: What type of pump should I install in my well?

A: The choice between a submersible or jet pump depends on the well’s depth and your water needs. We can recommend the best option.

Q: How long does a well pump last?

A: Well pumps typically last 10-15 years, but regular maintenance can extend their lifespan.

.

Q: What is an artificial filter pack, and do I need one?

A: An artificial filter pack is a layer of sand or gravel placed around the well screen to filter out fine particles. It’s essential in loose soils for maintaining water quality.

Q: How can I protect my well from contamination?

A: Proper well construction, grouting, and regular water testing help prevent contamination, ensuring a clean and safe water supply.
